Cereals can be divided into natural (grains, flakes or bran) and processed, such as the popular corn flakes etc based on one or more cereals. Their distinction also directs us in the way of their maintenance. Natural cereals are obviously more sensitive and for this reason they should be kept in the refrigerator in the warmer months of the year in order not to deteriorate, while during the winter they can be kept outside the refrigerator for a short time in a suitable packaging (jar or airtight packaging) in a dry and cool place. On the other hand, processed products can be kept all year round in a dry and cool place, away from heat and moisture and tightly closed in jars, glass or plastic, or airtight packaging, retaining this way their freshness, taste and crisp texture.
